THE HEADWATERS FOUNDATION is a tax exempt private foundation whose sole purpose is to benefit the programs of Headwaters, Inc., a rehabilitation agency serving the needs of adults with disabilities from throughout Forest, Oneida and Vilas Counties.

Since THE HEADWATERS FOUNDATION, INC. and HEADWATERS, INC. are not-for profit organizations, exempt from taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, contributions may be tax deductible to those individuals who itemize their deductions as allowable by law. There may be tax savings advantages resulting from your gift. Before considering any major gifts, consult with your attorney and financial advisor for the best advice in your situation

Volunteers

Headwater’s, Inc. has several opportunities for volunteers from one-time projects to long-term opportunities. Volunteers may assist with participant programs, but are never asked to do hands-on care.

Some one-time projects that community members could donate their time for include:

  • Facility projects such as painting, wallpapering, gardening
  • Providing entertainment for participants (music performance, magic shows, puppet shows, karaoke)
  • Short-term teaching of activities (knitting, cooking, art projects, seed planting, gardening, basic woodworking projects, dance steps, bowling, etc.)

Some long-term activities include:

  • Being available to accompany staff and participants on occasional all-day outings
  • Volunteering on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to work directly with staff and participants in Day Service and Work Experience programs.
